The last time I went out west I wasn’t feeling myself
I had my first real panic attack
Over going on a hike
Haven’t had one since, I think
The last time I went south things went well
I still don’t like the beach
But the warmth is comforting
And I like the way palm trees hold themselves
The last time I went up north was just a few days ago
Grandparents’ neighborhood always looks the same
Some discoloration of the siding
The tree out front used to watch our football games
Hard to think of next time
The last time I went east I saw the city
I felt at home
I like to smile at people though
Streets are too busy for it there
Midwestern through and through
The last time I stayed put I struggled
Though
